Coffee and Chocolate Rectangles

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fine semolina
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 cup fine-grained sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • 1/2 cup clotted cream

Decoration

  • melted milk chocolate

Preparation

  1. Bring a wide tray and place a metal rack on it.

  2. In a medium-sized pot with a thick base, put the semolina and milk powder. Place the pot on medium heat and stir with a wooden spoon until the semolina toasts and its aroma rises.

  3. In a deep bowl, put the semolina and milk mixture. Add sugar, cocoa, coffee, and clotted cream. Mix with fingertips until a cohesive dough forms.

  4. Bring a piece of aluminum foil, place the dough on it, shape into a 6x8 inch rectangle, and cut into small rectangles.

  5. In a deep bowl, put the melted milk chocolate. Dip the rectangles in chocolate using a fork, lift them out, and place on wax paper until dry. Let them dry completely and serve.
