Hunkwe Traditional Indonesian Snack

Ingredients

  • 30 g tapioca pearls, boiled in water with red food coloring
  • 120 g hunkwe flour
  • 1000 ml coconut milk from 1 coconut
  • 3 pandan leaves, torn
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  1. Boil the tapioca pearls in water with red food coloring until cooked, then drain.

  2. Mix the hunkwe flour, coconut milk, pandan leaves, and salt in a pot while stirring over heat until it bubbles.

  3. Add the drained tapioca pearls and stir until evenly distributed.

  4. Place the mixture on arranged banana leaves and wrap quickly.

  5. Let it cool.
