Traditional Indonesian Shrimp Pempek
Ingredients
- 500 grams peeled and cleaned shrimp
- 120 milliliters ice water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon mushroom seasoning
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 300 grams sago flour
Preparation
Put the shrimp and ice water into a chopper and puree until smooth
After pureeing, add salt, sugar, and mushroom seasoning, then chop until well mixed
Remove the mixture, pour into a bowl, add sago flour, and stir until evenly combined
Coat the cutting board and hands with sago flour, then shape the dough as desired
Place the pempek into boiling water and boil until cooked, then remove and drain
Tips
The same dough can be used to make various shapes as desired
