Padang-Style Shrimp Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 350 g shrimp
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Margarine as needed
  • Water as needed

Ground spices

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 shallots
  • 3 red chilies
  • 4 bird's eye chilies
  • 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns

Preparation

  1. Stir-fry the shrimp with margarine as needed until it turns red, then set aside.

  2. Stir-fry the ground spices and onion with margarine until fragrant, add the shrimp, then add the sauces, soy sauce, and salt to taste.

  3. Stir the mixture, add a little water, cook until the spices are absorbed, adjust the taste, and it's done.

Notes

  1. Freshwater shrimp can be used for a redder color and better taste.
