Easy Turkish Cantık Pide

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup warm milk (200 ml)
  • 1 cup warm water (200 ml)
  • 1 packet dry yeast (10 g)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (20 g)
  • 100 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 egg white
  • 5 cups flour (550 g)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (8 g)

Filling

  • 300 g ground meat
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • some parsley
  • 50 ml vegetable oil
  • red pepper flakes
  • black pepper
  • salt

Topping

  • 1 egg yolk

Preparation

  1. Mix milk, water, yeast, and sugar, then add oil, egg white, salt, and flour to knead a soft dough, cover and let it rise for 45 minutes.

  2. For the filling, mix ground meat, finely chopped onion, pepper, parsley, oil, and spices.

  3. Divide the risen dough into 12 equal pieces, shape into boats with thick edges, place on a tray, add the meat filling, brush the edges with egg yolk, and bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
