Brazilian Cornmeal Cake with Anise

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon anise

Preparation

  1. Blend the eggs, oil, and milk well in a blender

  2. Gradually add the sugar, flour, and cornmeal while pulsing

  3. Transfer to a bowl and add the baking powder and anise

  4. Mix well gently

  5. Pour the mixture into a greased bundt pan and bake in a medium oven for about 30 minutes
