Flaky Dill and Carrot Pogaça

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tea glass vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tea glass yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 bunch finely chopped dill
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 3.5 cups flour
  • 2 packets baking powder

  • Cheese

Preparation

  1. Reserve one egg yolk for brushing the tops.

  2. Grate the carrot finely and squeeze out excess water.

  3. In a deep bowl, combine the remaining egg, vegetable oil, vinegar, yogurt, sugar, melted butter, and salt; mix with a whisk.

  4. Add the grated carrot and finely chopped dill to the mixture and stir to combine.

  5. Gradually add the flour and then the baking powder, and knead until you have a soft dough that does not stick to your hands.

  6. Take walnut-sized pieces of dough, flatten them by hand, add cheese, seal, and shape into balls or desired forms.

  7. Brush the shaped dough with the reserved egg yolk.

  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C until golden brown.
