Garlic Herb Twisted Rolls

Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 cups Arrowhead Mills Organic Gluten Free All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/8 cups warm water
  • 4.5 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

Filling

  • 1 stick butter (room temp)
  • 4 sprigs parsley, chopped
  • 1 whole roasted garlic clove
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 tbsp Parmesan

Preparation

  1. Combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl and whisk together.

  2. Add the warm water and olive oil, mixing on medium speed until dough forms, then increase speed to high until the dough looks whipped.

  3. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, spray lightly with cooking oil, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm spot.

  4. While the dough rises, prepare the filling by mixing butter, parsley, roasted garlic, Italian herbs, and Parmesan until smooth and spreadable.

  5. Grease a 9-inch by 9-inch pan, roll the dough into 8-inch ovals, spread the filling, cut slits lengthwise without cutting through, twist each strip, form into knots, and place in the pan.

  6. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes until puffy, and preheat the oven to 350°F.

  7. Brush the rolls with egg wash or melted butter and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

  8. Brush the warm rolls with melted butter or leftover roasted garlic oil for extra flavor.
