Carrot and Orange Basbousa

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 small cup orange juice
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 2 grated carrots
  • 2 packets fine semolina
  • 2 packets yeast (14g)
  • pinch of salt
  • semolina for sprinkling

Preparation

  1. In the electric blender cup, place 2 eggs, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1 small cup orange juice, 1 packet vanilla, and 2 grated carrots, then grind everything

  2. Add 2 packets of fine semolina, 2 packets of yeast (14g), and a pinch of salt, then grind again

  3. Place the mixture in a greased mold sprinkled with semolina

  4. Put the basbousa in a cold oven and bake on low heat until done

  5. Pour orange juice over it while hot and add optional decoration
