Vegetarian Cottage Pie with Sides
Ingredients
- about a third of a bag of morrisons plant revolution mighty mince
- water to cover
- knorruk vegetable stock pot
- sprinkle of schwartz.uk onion salt
- sprinkle of schwartz.uk garlic powder
- sprinkle of schwartz.uk black and white pepper
- 1 tbsp cornflour (mixed with a little cold water first)
- 1/2 tsp sarsonsuk gravy browning
- asda marabel potatoes
- a little onion salt (for mashed potatoes)
- chives (for mashed potatoes)
- mix of double gloucester and pilgrimschoice mature cheddar
- roasted carrots
- roasted parsnips
- birdseyeuk garden peas
- brussel sprouts
Preparation
Peel and dice the asda marabel potatoes, then boil for 20 minutes
Mash the potatoes with a little onion salt and chives, leaving about half a mug of cooking water
Cook the morrisons plant revolution mighty mince with water to cover, knorruk vegetable stock pot, a sprinkle of schwartz.uk onion salt, garlic powder, black and white pepper
Add the cornflour mixture (mixed with cold water) and sarsonsuk gravy browning to the mince mixture and stir until thickened
Assemble the mince mixture into a 1lb loaf tin
Top with a mix of double gloucester and pilgrimschoice mature cheddar cheese
Bake in the oven until the cheese is golden and crispy
Tips
No need to add butter to the mashed potatoes as marabel potatoes are naturally buttery
