Simple and Quick Homemade Bread Rolls

Ingredients

  • 250 ml warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (20g)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (3g)
  • 5 g dry yeast (1/2 packet) or 15 g fresh yeast
  • 100 ml oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon margarine
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, for brushing

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, pour the warm milk and add the yeast

  2. Mix well until the yeast is dissolved

  3. Add the oil, margarine, egg, salt, and sugar

  4. Stir well until the ingredients are well combined

  5. Gradually add the flour, stirring with a spoon at first and then with your hands

  6. When the dough is consistent, transfer it to a smooth surface and continue adding flour gradually and kneading until homogeneous

  7. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes

  8. Place the dough back in the bowl and cover with a cloth or plastic wrap

  9. Let it rest for 30 minutes

  10. Shape the small bread rolls as desired

  11. Arrange the rolls in a greased and floured baking pan, leaving 2 cm of space between each

  12. Cover again and let rest for another 40 minutes

  13. Lightly beat the egg and brush it on top of the bread rolls

  14. Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C until golden

Tips

  1. If it's very cold in your city, place the dough inside the turned-off oven during the first rest

  2. I like to make the rolls in the shape of small balls
