Quick and Easy Pan Börek
Ingredients
- 15 sheets of phyllo dough
Sauce
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 coffee cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Filling
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 bowl white cheese
Preparation
First, prepare the sauce by mixing milk, vegetable oil, egg, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and whisk well.
Grease the bottom and sides of the pan thoroughly.
Lay the first phyllo sheet in the pan with edges hanging over.
Place a phyllo sheet on the bottom of the pan and brush with sauce.
Add another phyllo sheet in a crumpled manner and moisten with sauce.
Lay a second phyllo sheet and moisten with sauce.
Spread the cheese filling over the layers.
Repeat the process of adding two phyllo sheets with sauce and spreading cheese filling every two sheets for all remaining sheets.
After placing the last sheet, fold the hanging edges over to cover the top.
Cook on low heat on the stove, flipping the börek to cook both sides, and cook for 5 minutes with the lid on before continuing without the lid until done.
