Crispy Battered Tempe with Spicy Sambal
Ingredients
- 1 block tempe, sliced
- Crispy tempe flour mix, as needed
- Green onions, sliced, as needed
- Water, as needed
Sambal
- Handful of red bird's eye chilies
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon fried cashew nuts
- Salt, as needed
- Hot oil, as needed
Preparation
Dissolve crispy tempe flour in water as needed, add sliced green onions and mix well, ensuring the batter is not too runny
Add tempe slices to the batter, then fry until cooked and drain
Crush red bird's eye chilies and garlic, add fried cashew nuts and salt, crush again not too finely
Pour hot oil over the sambal mixture and stir well
Add the fried tempe to the mortar and crush it
Serve with warm rice and fresh vegetables
