Spicy and Sour Tuna Stew
Ingredients
- Canned tuna in oil
- 2 red bird's eye chilies, optional
- 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 3 shallots, thinly sliced
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Mushroom stock, to taste
- Water, as needed
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sweet soy sauce
- Olive oil, for sautéing
Preparation
Open the tuna can and set aside in a bowl
Heat olive oil in a pan, then sauté garlic, shallots, and chilies until fragrant
Add water as needed (approximately 1/2 cup), bring to a boil, then add salt, pepper, mushroom stock, oyster sauce, chili sauce, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, and sweet soy sauce; stir, taste, and adjust seasoning
Add the tuna, stir, and let it simmer briefly until the liquid reduces slightly, then remove from heat and serve
