Basic Yeast Dough for Baked Savory Pastries

Ingredients

  • 500 ml warm milk
  • 1.5 kg wheat flour, approximately
  • 300 ml oil
  • 3 egg whites
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt, not too full
  • 100 g fresh yeast

Filling options

  • Ground meat
  • Chicken
  • Cheese and ham

For brushing

  • 3 egg yolks

Preparation

  1. Put warm milk in a bowl and dissolve the yeast

  2. Add egg whites, sugar, salt, and oil

  3. Cover well and wait until a foam forms like detergent foam

  4. After the foam forms, mix everything with a wooden spoon, gradually adding flour until the dough is ready to knead; do not add too much flour to avoid dryness, and if it happens, add a bit more oil

  5. Knead the dough, then let it rest covered with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel for 30 minutes

  6. Divide the dough into pieces and form 30 small balls

  7. Roll each ball into a round shape and add the filling of your choice

  8. Brush the pastries with egg yolk

  9. Bake until lightly golden
