Spicy Tahu Gejrot Indonesian Snack
Ingredients
- Tofu (brown or Sumedang variety)
Sauce
- 300 ml water
- 1 tablespoon tamarind
- 75 grams palm sugar or 2 pieces
- 6 shallots
- 2 garlic cloves
- Bird's eye chilies to taste
- Salt to taste
Preparation
Boil water, add tamarind and palm sugar. Wait until dissolved, then turn off heat.
Strain the sugar water.
Pound bird's eye chili, shallots, garlic, and a little salt.
Add the sauce to the mortar.
Cut the tofu into pieces, arrange on a plate, and pour the sauce over it. Enjoy.
