Turkish Style Poğaça Pastry

Ingredients

  • 500 grams flour
  • 225 grams margarine or butter, at room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 50 grams yogurt
  • 75 milliliters lukewarm water
  • 30 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet fresh yeast

Topping

  • Egg yolk
  • Sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Place flour in a large bowl and make a well in the center, then add all ingredients and knead into a firm dough.

  2. Let the dough rise for 20 minutes at room temperature, wrapped in plastic wrap.

  3. Divide the dough into 90-gram pieces and shape as desired.

  4. Brush the shaped dough with egg yolk and let it rise again.

  5. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius until golden brown.
