Banana Cinnamon Oats

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 sliced banana
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Preparation

  1. Add ingredients to a sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Allow oats to cook and thicken while stirring occasionally for 5 minutes. Then go ahead and top

  2. If you’d like to make blueberry chia jam, add 1/2 cup frozen blueberries with 1 tsp chia seeds and a pinch of cinnamon to a small sauce pan

  3. Feel free to sweeten with sugar or maple syrup if you need it to be a little sweeter

  4. Stir and cook consistently as the berries warm through and release their juices

  5. Berries should start to thicken, and you are welcome to lightly mash if you really want a good jam like consistency

  6. Love these right off the stove in the winter, so warm and cozy

  7. If you can’t handle chia seeds you can also replace with a pinch of corn starch or agar agar to thicken as it cooks
