Cozy Banana Cinnamon Oats with Berry Toppings
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 sliced banana
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Blueberry chia jam
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- a pinch of cinnamon
- optional sugar or maple syrup
Preparation
Add ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a simmer.
Allow oats to cook and thicken while stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.
Then top with desired toppings such as bananas, strawberries, and blueberry chia jam.
Jam making
Add 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 1 tsp chia seeds, and a pinch of cinnamon to a small saucepan.
Sweeten with sugar or maple syrup if desired for extra sweetness.
Stir and cook consistently as berries warm through and release their juices.
Mash lightly if you want a thicker jam-like consistency.
If you cannot use chia seeds, replace with a pinch of corn starch or agar agar to thicken while cooking.
