Cozy Banana Cinnamon Oats with Berry Toppings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 sliced banana
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Blueberry chia jam

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • optional sugar or maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Add ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a simmer.

  2. Allow oats to cook and thicken while stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.

  3. Then top with desired toppings such as bananas, strawberries, and blueberry chia jam.

Jam making

  1. Add 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 1 tsp chia seeds, and a pinch of cinnamon to a small saucepan.

  2. Sweeten with sugar or maple syrup if desired for extra sweetness.

  3. Stir and cook consistently as berries warm through and release their juices.

  4. Mash lightly if you want a thicker jam-like consistency.

  5. If you cannot use chia seeds, replace with a pinch of corn starch or agar agar to thicken while cooking.
