Fluffy Vanilla and Chocolate Swirl Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 40 drops vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Preparation

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff and set aside

  2. Beat egg yolks, sugar, and margarine until light and creamy

  3. Add milk and flour, mix and beat until smooth

  4. Add baking powder and egg whites, gently fold with a whisk

  5. Divide the batter into two parts, one part slightly larger

  6. To the larger half, add vanilla extract

  7. To the other half, add cocoa powder

  8. In a greased and floured tube pan, pour the vanilla batter and then the chocolate batter on top

  9. Bake in a preheated medium oven for about 35 minutes

  10. Remove from oven, let cool slightly and unmold

  11. Serve immediately
