Moist Orange Cake with Orange Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 (200ml) carton heavy cream
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Syrup
- juice of 2 oranges
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Preparation
In a blender, beat heavy cream, orange juice, and egg yolks for 5 minutes
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside
In a bowl, mix the sifted all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and baking powder
Gradually add the blender mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well
Gently fold in the beaten egg whites
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for about 40 minutes
Syrup
Mix orange juice and sugar in a saucepan
Bring to a boil over medium heat, then boil for 2 minutes and remove from heat
While the cake is still hot, poke holes all over with a fork and pour the syrup over the top
