Classic Marble Cake with Chocolate Swirl
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups sugar (360 g)
- 1 cup oil (240 ml)
- 1 cup milk (240 ml)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (420 g)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder (12 g)
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder (24 g)
Preparation
Beat eggs and sugar in a mixer for about 10 minutes until doubled in volume
With mixer running, add oil and milk and beat briefly
Turn off mixer and gradually add sifted flour, mixing gently to avoid deflating the batter
Add baking powder and mix well
Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the batter, mix in cocoa powder, and set aside
Pour the white batter into a greased and floured 27 cm round tube pan, then add the chocolate batter
Using a fork or toothpick, swirl to create a marbled effect
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for about 50 minutes until golden
Remove from oven, let cool, and unmold
