Easy Apple Pie Oatmeal Breakfast Jars
Ingredients
- Steel cut oats
- Water
- Apples
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Walnuts
- Maple syrup (optional)
- Non-dairy milk (optional)
Preparation
Cook steel cut oats with a 1:4 ratio of oats to water by simmering for 20 minutes.
In a separate nonstick saucepan, add sliced apples, a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg, and a splash of water; simmer on low heat until apples caramelize.
Divide the caramelized apples between jars.
Top the apples with the cooked oatmeal.
Sprinkle raw walnuts on top.
Store the jars in the refrigerator for a few days to grab and go.
Serve with optional maple syrup and warmed non-dairy milk on the side.
