Magnolia Dream Cake and Pudding

Ingredients

Cake

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 egg white (yolk used for magnolia)
  • 1 tea glass sugar
  • 1 tea glass vegetable oil
  • 1 tea glass milk
  • 2.5 tea glasses flour
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 6 chocolate biscuits
  • 1 heaping teaspoon jam (strawberry, cherry, raspberry, etc.)

Magnolia pudding

  • 3 water glasses milk
  • 1 water glass sugar (adjustable to taste)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 heaping tablespoons flour
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 1 packet cream (200 ml)

Topping

  • 5 chocolate biscuits for sprinkling

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C with top and bottom heat setting.

  2. For the cake, combine all cake ingredients in a bowl and mix well until smooth.

  3. Pour the cake batter into a 24x24 cm pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until done.

  4. For the magnolia pudding, in a saucepan, whisk together milk, sugar, egg yolk, and flour over medium heat until thickened.

  5. Remove pudding from heat, stir in vanilla and cream until well combined and smooth.

  6. Allow both cake and pudding to cool completely.

  7. Assemble by placing cake slices or crumbs in serving dishes, top with magnolia pudding, and sprinkle with crushed chocolate biscuits.

  8. Chill in the refrigerator before serving for best results.

Tips

  1. You can serve the sponge cake alone or the magnolia pudding with biscuits and fruit in cups as alternatives.
