Simple Indonesian Butter Fried Chicken
Ingredients
- 300 ml vegetable oil
- 8 chicken thighs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced lengthwise
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 5 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 50 ml water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper or to taste
Preparation
Marinate chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Mix well. Set aside for at least 30 minutes.
Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Stir well. Set aside.
Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry chicken until cooked and golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Heat butter. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
Add sauce mixture. Stir until sauce slightly thickens.
Add chicken back to the pan. Cook until chicken is well coated with sauce. Adjust seasoning. Remove from heat. Serve with warm rice.
