Malaysian Steamed Rice Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 3 cups rice flour
- Half packet instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon rose essence
- A little green food coloring
Preparation
Blend the rice, sugar, and water.
Sift the instant yeast together with the wheat flour and rice flour.
Combine the blended mixture with the sifted dry ingredients.
Let the batter rise for one hour.
Heat the steamer until the water boils.
Steam the batter for 45 minutes.
Serve with grated white coconut and a little salt.
