Lettuce Salad with Walnut Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 large head lettuce
  • 1 green onion
  • 1 medium red bell pepper
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1 cup roasted walnuts

Walnut sauce

  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons fine-grained sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mustard paste
  • 1 cup olive oil

Preparation

  1. In a deep bowl, place the lettuce, onion, pepper, and tomato and mix the vegetables with a wooden spoon to form the salad.

  2. In a wide serving dish, place the salad and distribute the roasted walnuts.

  3. For the walnut sauce, in a food processor with the steel blade attached, place the onion and run on medium speed until very smooth. With the processor running, add the vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, and walnuts through the feed tube and continue until a homogeneous and smooth sauce forms.

  4. Distribute the walnut sauce over the salad and serve.
