Vegan Tofu Bacon Delight
Ingredients
- 450 g firm tofu, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1.5 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil for baking sheet
- 1.5 tsp liquid smoke
Preparation
Slice the tofu thinly if not already sliced
In a bowl, mix together onion powder, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, maple syrup, liquid smoke, and 1 tbsp vegetable oil to create a marinade
Coat the tofu slices evenly with the marinade and let them sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb flavors
Preheat the oven to 200°C
Grease a baking sheet with the remaining 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Arrange the marinated tofu slices on the baking sheet in a single layer
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown
