Pan-Fried Marinated Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 kg large jumbo shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Marinade

  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed chili

Garnish

  • chopped parsley

Preparation

  1. Butterfly the shrimp by cutting open the back to make it like a butterfly, do not remove the shell, head, or tail.

  2. Clean the shrimp.

  3. Arrange the shrimp in a wide tray with the meat side up.

  4. In a bowl, mix all the marinade ingredients together.

  5. Spread the marinade mixture over the shrimp and refrigerate for one hour.

  6. In a wide skillet, heat the oil and butter, stir briefly, then place a few shrimp meat side down, wait 2 minutes, flip to the other side, wait 2 minutes until browned, do not overcook; during cooking, press on the shrimp with the back of a wide spoon to keep its shape.

  7. Transfer to a serving plate and continue cooking the remaining shrimp, do not overcrowd the skillet.

  8. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with lemon halves.
