Indonesian Fried Tofu Fritters

Ingredients

  • 325 grams mashed tofu
  • 1 egg
  • Basil leaves to taste, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Seasoning to taste

Spice paste

  • 1/2 piece baked shrimp paste (ABC brand)
  • 4 shallots
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 curly red chilies

Preparation

  1. Steam the tofu, squeeze out excess water, and mash it until smooth.

  2. Grind the spice paste ingredients into a fine mixture.

  3. Mix all ingredients together until well combined.

  4. Shape the mixture into flat rounds.

  5. Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
