Custard Pudding and Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup custard powder
- 5 cups water
- 1/2 tin evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Vanilla essence
Custard sauce
- 1 tin evaporated milk
- 1 tin fruit cocktail (use syrup only)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon custard powder
- Vanilla essence
- Pandan leaves
Preparation
Mix all ingredients for the pudding.
Cook over heat until thick and shiny.
Pour into a mold.
Cool it.
For the custard sauce, whisk all ingredients except the egg yolk.
Add knotted pandan leaves.
Cook until slightly thick.
Take a little of the mixture, mix with the egg yolk, and whisk.
Pour back into the sauce.
Stir until smooth and the sauce is done.
Tips
The custard sauce can be cooked in advance and stored in the fridge.
It can be served with king pudding, bread pudding, cake, and more.
Garnish the pudding with fruit cocktail, lychee, or longan.
