Easy Apple Crumble Dessert

Ingredients

Filling

  • 2 lb apples (about 6 small/medium apples)
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Crumble topping

  • 1 cup oats
  • 3/4 cup oat flour
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup vegan butter or coconut oil
  • 1 flax egg (1 tbsp flax + 3 tbsp water)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Start by washing, peeling, and chopping the apples into small pieces and add them to a large bowl.

  2. To the apples, add in the rest of the filling ingredients and mix them well, then transfer to a baking dish.

  3. To make the crumble topping, add all of the topping ingredients to a new clean bowl and mix them well.

  4. Sprinkle the crumble topping all over the apples.

  5. Place the apple crumble in the oven and bake at 375°F/190°C for 45-60 minutes, until the topping becomes golden and crispy.

Serving suggestions

  1. Top with whipped cream or vegan ice cream.
