Homemade Chocolate-Covered Coconut Bars

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fine coconut
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon starch
  • 1 large can condensed milk
  • 500 grams chocolate

Preparation

  1. Bring a wide tray and place a metal rack or a piece of butter paper on it.

  2. In a deep bowl, put coconut, salt, starch, and milk. Using a wide plastic spoon, stir until the coconut mixes with the milk and forms bounty dough.

  3. Take an amount of bounty dough as preferred and shape it into a rectangle. Place it on the metal rack. Continue with the remaining dough to make equal-sized pieces. Let them dry and set for a few minutes.

  4. In a deep bowl, put the chocolate. Place the bowl on a hot water bath over low heat. Using a wide plastic spoon, stir until the chocolate melts.

  5. Dip a piece of bounty in the melted chocolate. Using a fork, turn it until fully covered. Lift with the fork and shake gently to remove excess chocolate. Place it on the rack. Repeat with the remaining pieces.

  6. Let the chocolate-covered bounty dry completely then serve.
