Homemade Chocolate-Covered Coconut Bars
Ingredients
- 4 cups fine coconut
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon starch
- 1 large can condensed milk
- 500 grams chocolate
Preparation
Bring a wide tray and place a metal rack or a piece of butter paper on it.
In a deep bowl, put coconut, salt, starch, and milk. Using a wide plastic spoon, stir until the coconut mixes with the milk and forms bounty dough.
Take an amount of bounty dough as preferred and shape it into a rectangle. Place it on the metal rack. Continue with the remaining dough to make equal-sized pieces. Let them dry and set for a few minutes.
In a deep bowl, put the chocolate. Place the bowl on a hot water bath over low heat. Using a wide plastic spoon, stir until the chocolate melts.
Dip a piece of bounty in the melted chocolate. Using a fork, turn it until fully covered. Lift with the fork and shake gently to remove excess chocolate. Place it on the rack. Repeat with the remaining pieces.
Let the chocolate-covered bounty dry completely then serve.
