Indonesian Tomato Chicken Soup
Ingredients
- Juice from 5 tomatoes
- 1 liter water
- 100 grams tomato sauce
- 3 stalks celery
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
- 250 grams chicken breast
- 5 carrots
- Ham or sausage to taste
- A handful of fried shallots
- 2 tablespoons fried garlic
Preparation
Boil the water, add the chicken and carrots, and cook until the carrots are tender.
Add the tomato juice, tomato sauce, celery, salt, sugar, pepper, nutmeg, ham, and sausage, then cook until the mixture boils and everything is cooked before removing from heat.
Serving suggestions
Serve the soup with fried bread, mini cream puffs, or shrimp balls as desired.

This soup is a favorite comfort food, though not particularly healthy.
