Spicy Indonesian Mussel Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 500 g mussels
  • 2 tbsp spicy sauce from @red1hot1
  • 2 stalks green onions
  • 15 red chilies
  • 2 bunches basil leaves
  • Sugar and salt

Ground spices

  • 7 shallots
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 3 large red chilies
  • 2 cm ginger
  • 2 cm turmeric

Preparation

  1. Wash the mussels clean and boil until cooked.

  2. Sauté the ground spices until fragrant, add the chili sauce and mix well, then add the mussels, sugar, salt, and water until the mussels are submerged.

  3. After the water reduces and the spices are absorbed, add the green onions, bird's eye chilies, and basil leaves, stir until wilted. Adjust the taste, remove from heat, and serve.

Notes

  1. This recipe uses spicy sauce from @red1hot1 for enhanced flavor.
