Authentic Turkish Yogurt Tantuni

Ingredients

  • 1 teacup vegetable oil
  • 700g finely chopped beef fillet or chicken breast
  • 1 teacup water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Onion
  • Parsley
  • Tomato
  • Yogurt
  • Lavash bread

Preparation

  1. Put all the ingredients in a pan and cook until the water evaporates

  2. If the meat is not fully cooked when the water evaporates, add more water and continue cooking

  3. Once the water has evaporated, add 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes and 1 teaspoon black pepper, then mix well

  4. If there is not enough oil, add more oil

  5. Place the tantuni mixture, onion, parsley, and tomato inside lavash bread and wrap it tightly

  6. Cut the wrapped tantuni with a knife

  7. Serve on a plate and drizzle with yogurt and oil from the tantuni

Tips

  1. This dish is affordable and can be made for the whole family at the cost of one portion

  2. Everyone loved it so much that we stopped eating it out
