Brazilian Buttery Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 180 g butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff and set aside

  2. In a mixer, add egg yolks, sugar, and butter

  3. Beat until creamy

  4. Add flour and milk until a homogeneous batter forms

  5. Gently fold in the egg whites and baking powder

  6. Bake for about 40 minutes
