Brazilian Ground Beef Fricassee Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 700g (1.5 lbs) ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1 cup corn kernels, drained
  • 1 envelope (about 10g) beef bouillon powder
  • Salt, black pepper, and chopped fresh cilantro to taste
  • 2 cups cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Shoestring potatoes for sprinkling

Preparation

  1. In a pan, heat the oil over high heat and sautΓ© the ground beef for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally

  2. Add the onion, garlic, tomatoes, corn, and beef bouillon, and sautΓ© for another 5 minutes or until the meat is no longer raw

  3. Season with salt, pepper, and chopped cilantro, and spread in a medium baking dish

  4. Cover with the cream cheese and sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese

  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 400Β°F (200Β°C) for 10 minutes or until lightly golden

  6. Sprinkle with shoestring potatoes and serve
