Casablanca Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 cups butter
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1.5 cups caster sugar
- vanilla essence
- 2 cups crushed Nestum
- 1 cup ground roasted oats
- 0.5 cups almond powder
- 1/3 cup black sesame seeds
- 2 cups crushed cornflakes
- 3 cups wheat flour
- 0.5 cups corn flour
- 1 tablespoon rice flour
Preparation
Cream butter, sugar, vanilla essence, and shortening until fluffy
Add crushed Nestum, ground roasted oats, crushed cornflakes, almond powder, and black sesame seeds to the butter mixture and mix well
Add the flours and mix until dough forms
Shape with molds, brush with egg yolk, and decorate with red cherries or almonds
Bake at 150 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes, adjusting for your oven
Tips
The mixture may be crumbly due to cornflakes; press to compact and do not crush cornflakes finely to maintain crunchiness
Cookies are crispy and very delicious
