Authentic Japanese Okonomiyaki Pancake
Ingredients
- 80g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp dashi
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 eggs
- 125 ml water
- 150g cabbage, thinly sliced
- 50g carrot, grated
- 100g shrimp or squid
Toppings
- Okonomiyaki sauce
- Mayonnaise
- Bonito flakes
Preparation
Mix the flour, dashi, baking powder, salt, pepper, eggs, and water until smooth.
Add the cabbage and shrimp or squid, and stir until combined.
Grease a non-stick pan with oil, pour in the batter, flatten it, cook until done, flip, and cook the other side until done then remove from pan.
Place on a serving plate, spread with okonomiyaki sauce, then mayonnaise, and sprinkle with bonito flakes.
Serve and enjoy.
