Protein Banana & Chocolate Chip Oat Bars

Ingredients

  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed (1 cup)
  • 1/3 cup apple sauce
  • 1/4 cup any nut or seed butter
  • 1 flax egg (1 Tbsp flax seeds + 3 Tbsp water)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 scoops protein powder (or 2 to 4 Tbsp almond flour + 1 to 2 Tbsp maple syrup)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the mashed bananas, apple sauce, nut or seed butter, flax egg, and cinnamon until very smooth.

  2. Add the rolled oats and protein powder (or almond flour and maple syrup). Mix well to combine all the ingredients.

  3. Stir in the dark chocolate chips.

  4. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly.

  5. Bake at 350F for approximately 20 minutes.

  6. Once done, remove from the oven and let the bars cool before cutting into desired sizes.
