Moong Dal Protein Toasts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup moong dal
  • Green chilies
  • Ginger
  • Turmeric powder
  • Red chili powder
  • Salt
  • Ajwain (carom seeds)
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Carrot, chopped
  • Capsicum, chopped
  • Onion, chopped
  • Bread slices
  • Butter
  • Oil

Preparation

  1. Soak 1 cup moong dal in water for 2 hours

  2. Grind the dal with chili and ginger using very little water to make a thick batter

  3. Add turmeric and red chili powder to the batter

  4. Add salt and ajwain to the batter

  5. Add chopped coriander, carrot, capsicum, and onion to the batter

  6. Stir the batter for 5 minutes to make it light

  7. Apply butter on both sides of a bread slice

  8. Spread the batter on one side of the bread and place it on a pan with a little oil

  9. Flip the bread and spread batter on the other side as well

  10. Cook the bread from both sides until done

  11. The high protein dal toast is ready
