Roti Canai Without Eggs

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 4 cups flour

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients except flour until sugar dissolves.

  2. Gradually add flour while kneading.

  3. Knead until the dough is smooth.

  4. Shape the dough into balls of desired size, approximately 8-10 pieces.

  5. Apply a small amount of oil to the dough balls.

  6. Allow the dough to rest for 3-4 hours.

  7. Stretch and toss the dough by pulling it gently.

  8. Fry in a pan with minimal oil until cooked.

Tips

  1. Use little oil for resting and frying; it may appear more when the dough is submerged.
