Simple Brazilian Yeast Bread with Sweet Glaze

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 5g dry yeast
  • 500g all-purpose flour

Preparation

  1. Blend the warm milk, eggs, sugar, salt, oil, and yeast in a blender until smooth

  2. In a large bowl, combine the blended liquid with the flour and knead until a dough forms

  3. Grease a baking pan with butter and dust with flour

  4. Shape the dough into small balls and place in the prepared pan

  5. Cover and let rest for 3 hours or until doubled in size

  6. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown

  7. Prepare a thin syrup by dissolving 1 tablespoon sugar in 2 tablespoons water

  8. Brush the warm bread with the sugar syrup

Notes

  1. Use half a package (5g) of dry yeast for 500g of flour. If doubling the recipe, use a full package (10g).
