Spicy Indonesian Meatball Stir-Fry
Ingredients
- 30 beef meatballs
- 100 grams bird's eye chili
- 50 grams curly chili
- 3 garlic cloves
- 8 shallots
- 2 bay leaves
- 5 sliced kaffir lime leaves
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
- Seasoning to taste
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 1 lime
- Water as needed
Preparation
Split the meatballs in half and fry them, then set aside.
Coarsely grind the garlic, shallots, and chilies, or blend briefly.
Sauté the chili mixture with bay leaves and kaffir lime leaves until fragrant.
Add the meatballs, pour in water, and cook until the water reduces.
Add salt, sugar, seasoning, and sweet soy sauce, then stir well.
Finally, squeeze lime juice over the dish.
Tips
Be careful as this dish can be very spicy.
Serve with hot white rice for the best experience.
