Vegan and Gluten-Free Apple Crisp
Ingredients
- 4 apples of choice (e.g., 2 honey crisp and 2 Granny Smith)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Topping
- 3/4 cup almond flour
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Preparation
Slice the apples.
Heat a small, oven-safe skillet for a few minutes, then add the coconut oil, sliced apples, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Sauté for 2-3 minutes, just enough to coat the apples.
In a bowl, mix together the topping ingredients.
Add the topping mixture to the apples, breaking it up into smaller pieces for a crumbly texture.
Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve!
