Vegan and Gluten-Free Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 4 apples of choice (e.g., 2 honey crisp and 2 Granny Smith)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Topping

  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Slice the apples.

  2. Heat a small, oven-safe skillet for a few minutes, then add the coconut oil, sliced apples, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  3. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, just enough to coat the apples.

  4. In a bowl, mix together the topping ingredients.

  5. Add the topping mixture to the apples, breaking it up into smaller pieces for a crumbly texture.

  6. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.

  7. Remove from the oven and serve!
