Easy Chocolate Hummus Dip

Ingredients

  • 15 oz chickpeas, drained
  • 2 Tbl natural creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbl cocoa powder
  • 4 Tbl maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4-1/2 cup non-dairy milk

Preparation

  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth

  2. Start with 1/4 cup of non-dairy milk and add more as needed to achieve the desired consistency

  3. Refrigerate to firm up, as the mixture will thicken

Tips

  1. Optionally peel the chickpeas for a smoother texture

  2. Use coconut or granulated sugar in place of maple syrup for variations in consistency and smoothness

  3. This recipe makes about 6 servings and can be enjoyed as a dip with fresh fruit, a topping for pancakes, or eaten straight with a spoon
