Fluffy Banana Steamed Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed and ripened for at least an hour
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon condensed milk
  • 3 eggs
  • A pinch of salt
  • A dash of banana essence or vanilla essence
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  1. Blend all the wet ingredients until light and fluffy and the sugar is dissolved

  2. Sift all the dry ingredients together

  3. Heat the steamer and grease the pan or molds with oil or margarine

  4. Combine the mashed bananas, blended mixture, and dry ingredients; mix until well incorporated and pour into the prepared pan or molds

  5. Ensure the water in the steamer is boiling before starting to steam

  6. Steam for 45 minutes for a large pan or 15 minutes for small molds

Tips

  1. This recipe has a moderate sweetness level; you can add chocolate rice or cocoa powder if desired to suit your taste
