Indonesian Sekoteng Ginger Drink
Ingredients
- 2 pieces ginger
- 100g palm sugar
- 50g white sugar
- 500ml water
- 2 pandan leaves
- 1 lemongrass stalk
Optional add-ins
- Pearl sago (to taste)
- Palm fruit (to taste)
- Bread (to taste)
- Peanuts (to taste)
- Sweetened condensed milk (to taste)
Preparation
Cut the bread into small cubes and refrigerate until hardened.
Boil water in a pot, and when it boils, add ginger, palm sugar, white sugar, lemongrass, and pandan leaves.
After the mixture is well combined, add pearl sago and palm fruit if desired.
Taste the ginger water to adjust the flavor, and serve with sweetened condensed milk, peanuts, and the hardened bread cubes.
Tips
The pearl sago and palm fruit can be added during cooking or separately when serving to suit your preference.
