Delicious Homemade Churros with Dulce De Leche

Ingredients

Dough

  • 250 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or unsalted butter
  • pinch of salt (omit if margarine is salted)
  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs

For frying

  • oil for frying

Coating

  • sugar and cinnamon mixture

Filling

  • dulce de leche

Preparation

  1. Heat water in a saucepan over medium heat, then reduce to low and add margarine and sugar

  2. Stir well until margarine is completely dissolved

  3. Gradually add flour, stirring constantly, until the dough pulls away from the pan

  4. Remove from heat and add eggs one at a time, mixing well until fully combined

  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip or churro maker

  6. Pipe directly into hot oil in a frying pan to desired length, cutting with fingers or knife

  7. After frying, place on paper towels to absorb excess oil

  8. Coat in sugar and cinnamon mixture

  9. Fill with dulce de leche using the tip that comes with the churro maker
